Transmission Problem, possibly

I have 2000 Accord EX-VL, automatic trans. It is giving me a problem when shifiting from first to second gear. My engine light is also on. What are my option other than taking it to dealer which is an expensive one. Thanks

Have you replaced the fluid regularly? Why not try a flush?
