Default B18 swap

Finally got my first b swap done. DOn't have pics yet but I'll try to get some up. only a non-VTEC B18, but its a hell of a lot better than the z6 I had. Torque is awesome, and the accelerator feels more responsive. I forgot to mention I rebuilt the B18. Hopefully I can get some work on my spare B1 head and then set it up for boost later.

throw a b16 tranny on that swap and you will be even more impressed with that motor. im a huge fan on ls set-up.... especially when vtec is added. hence my lsv-t build. have fun with it. GL

Was suprised at how easy it was. Took 10 hours by myself with limited knowledge on cars.

I would, but I plan on boostin' so I don't think a b16 tranny would be good for me. I'm thinkin about a GSR tranny w/LSD for the boosted set-up though. Got ripped off on my tranny. @**hole said it was a gsr tranny and it turns out to be an LS. But couldn't be happier with the swap. Night and Day compared to the D16

I have a b16 tranny with lsd on my setup and its awesome, especially if you plan on going to the track on slicks... the shorter gears will be useful. the gsr isnt bad at all either though... either would be a step up from the ls

So I calculated all the parts I bought, everything and broke it down on Excel. I'll post that up later. For a rebuilt B18 with ls tranny and every piece needed for the swap including fluids and everything I needed to pick up from the autoparts store, I spent $1706. Not bad IMO for a virtually brand new engine and each piece bought individually.

What is the average gas mileage for this engine? I know I'm still breaking it in, but I'm at 178 mile and a quarter tank left. Is that normal?

Did my swap a few months ago... I wish i was blessed with a z6 at first... Cuz i prolly woulda never went bseries... Woulda been working on a vitara'd setup shooting for 440whp... But i was stuck with a Y7... Had a new block and Y8 that was ready to be turbo'd and finally someone came thru with an affordable GSR swap...

Talk about night and Day... Didnt have enough power to do more than 105-110...

And a fews days ago... I pulled to 125mph in fourth gear... So yea mission accomplished...

Next mission is Stage 1 boost and 300whp...

Stage 2 will be a sleeved 2.0L shooting for 500whp
