First, I am a nooooooooooob with the mechanics of cars. I am pretty confident that with an experienced eye looking over my shoulder and the haynes manual I could do most jobs but I honestly have very little experience there. alright now to get to the point; I am planning on buying a 88-91 CRX. It is completely stripped out and the motor's been swapped to a JDM B18c5. Short-ram AEM intake, some aftermarket intake manifold (I can't remember what brand but I have a feeling it's a good quality one) 4-1 DC headers and test pipe and I'm not 100% certain about the rest of the exhaust. I think it's only got slightly smaller than stock lowering springs on it and that's all that's been done with the suspension; it has also got the 4 wheel disc brakes conversion. The guy I'm buying it from has not really even driven it as far as i know but i think he was building it for just drag. Anyways, I first want to know what i should check to make sure is in good working condition on the car before i buy it, and second I want to know where should i start with the suspension of this car? I want it to be a weekend track car weekday commute car. Any and all, flaming, suggestions, or just **** talkin is appreciated
I would start off first by test driving the car and getting a feel for it. Keep an eye out for any weird noises it may make, smoke, grinds etc. Inspect the car thoroughly inside and out. Suspension wise, I would first look into what the guy has already done.. nontheless a good set of shocks if its already got a good set of lowering springs. Totally up to you though. I dont quite understand what your vision of a "track" car means. Drag, Auto x?? One of the two or all types
Figuring that out would be a good platform for you to start figuring out what suspension setup you would need!

Find out id its got LSD, and if the tranny is hydo not cable. im sure its hydro and has LSD but still better safe then sorry. Also do a compression check you can buy a compression check kit at auto zone for 20 bucks that will tell you if its healthy. while driving see if you smell exahust or see if you have smoke out the exahust when you floor it, alittle is ok but alot can mean ur burning oil and that can leat to burning up ur rings and seals. umm if that checks out ur in good shape...ohh look at the wiring make sure its neat and not rat nested and chopped up.
