Basic Bolt-On Opinions
I've got a 1994 Prelude VTEC. I am looking to put on same bolt-ons and am wondering what brands people have had the most success with for this application. So far it seems that AEM is the winner for the Cold Air Intake. I am also looking to buy headers, so far i'm only hearing DC Sports. I'm also looking to upgrade my intake manifold and I've been told skunk 2 is the best. So i'm just wondering if anyones got any thoughts on the topic. thanks 4 the help.

ok ill make this as simple as i can
dont waste ur money on aem, its way overpriced for the same thing u can get on ebay for 1/8 the cost
This is what u should do
Ebay intake (id go shortram, personally) with a k + n or apexi filter
if ur tryint o save cash, buy a Megan racing Header and do a collector mod (search bout it)
Get a nice 2.25 or 2.5 exhaust
Dont' waste ur money on an intake manifold unless u have some other supporting headwork

AEM CAI's are kind of a waste, especially when you could get the same thing off of EBAY for $30. A DC Header is about as worthless as the stock header (notice not plural b/c there's only 1 exhaust header on an h22), you're better off looking at something like the greddy, RMF, mugen, SMSP, prospeed, T1r which cost more than the DC. Or if you don't care about the gains, and just want the Aftermarket header, get a DC copy from Megan or something similar. Skunk2 is the only that makes an aftermarket IM appropriate for NA cars, however, it's shown mixed results with low levels of modification over the OEM IM. You're better off finishing the bolt ons with an exhaust, HF cat, and engine management.

so the ebay intake is the way to go. and if im looking for power gains, dont waste money on a dc header. and wait on the intake manifold until i start producing lots more power.
