Default 90-02 Accord BS thread. Keep it clean.

I am starting this thread to see how this works in here. Hopefully this can be a place for fellow accord owners to chat about whatever you want. However, it has to stay a clean discussion. Ladies and Gents this can be a fun thread, but it is up to you to keep it here.

Interesting, 40+ views and no posts. Am I to take this as no one would like a chat thread?

well...I got my car tuned for a week then last weekend, coppers set up a road breathlizer test, ofcourse I don't drink and drive so I scored 0.00, BUT THEY TOLD ME TO PARK ON THE CAR PARK NEARBY AND POPPED THE HOOD.

I got defected for not having permit for the aftermarket turbo...booked in for inspection 2moro and hopefully don't have to sit the IM240 test which would cost me $900 (yes NO BS).

Impressive numbers Kccord. I can't wait to get mine tune as well. I'll wait till I get myself an M2a4 trans; that way I can get the full potential out of the H.

Those of us who live in areas that don't care whats installed under the hood feel your pain kccord... (or at least we can imagine what that'd be like)

I don't know what'd I'd do if it was anything like that around here. Probably move.

**** forgot about this thread but here's my update:

Brought my car to inspection centre last week and got it inspected by two old farts that knows half squat of imports; they gave me a list to be rectified and another yellow sticker for extension (defect notice):

1. Remove engine mods or get it approved by dpi/engineer
2. Blow off valve needs to be silent (****ing old ***got don't know what turbo spool sounds like + my bov was already plumback which was stated legal)
3. 3rd brake light needs to be rectified (fair enough that it wasn't working)
4. Indicator lights needs to be amber (fair enough, they were the wrong globes)
5. Exhaust was too noisy (WTF THEY DIDN'T HAVE ANY PROOF THAT THEY MEASURED IT OVER 93DB USING DECIBEL METER, how can their old ****ing ears judge that it is noisy without measuring???)
6. Ride height must be rectified to 100mm to meet ADR standards (WTF my car cleared that 100mm barrier but they still didn't like it??)
7. Excess movement on the front left wheel, tie rods joint/steering??? (wtf, I checked both left and right are the same and seem normal??)

**** that Im going to different inspection centre next time

I was lucky that last week the newly introduce IM240 test has been postponed for maximum 6 months until formal address of the new regulation is properly introduced. So why was is expensive before?? because there is only one PRIVATE testing facility in Western Australia that can do the test. So a big monopoly + their testing centre hasn't been approved. Where else in the eastern states it's only $40 since it is government run.

The thing that ***** me is that IM240 test is regardless what OBD system you have. So a 1970 carby car that don't have a CAT originally fitted have to roll in the test and fail and will never get re-registered back on the road.

The only way for people to pass the test was apparently to buy the workshop's CAT or buy OEM, how bullshit is that?? and we know that it is just a scam. Also apprently a 900hp LS1 commodore that these guys built with big lumpy cams etc etc was able to pass the test wherelse a stock WRX or a stock Holden commodore V8 out of the showroom weren't able to pass the test.

**** YOU Kostecki engine centre!

Hey Dave,

How's the Accord going? I haven't been around for a couple years due to work and picking up a new (to me) car. Is your setup still the same as a couple years ago? I always loved your car...

My stock 91lx turns the quarter mile in 11.2@139 mph.

Top end is 186 mph.

How's that for some bullshit?

139 really isn't that high when you remember that we're talking about stock rubber fwd.

Kinda hard to get all that power to hook up in the first few gears.

Guess I ought to put some gummy slicks on it. Prolly get into the 9s.

BTW, did I read that right? 91 gsr for a NEW accord, straight up?

Must we one sweet integra or an even better line of bullshit than my ETs.
