Because everyone of my friends say that you CANNOT make a civic coupe as fast as a civic hatch. Is this true? Isn't it all about your setup? Not about coupe or hatch?

 

depending on your set up SO NOT TRUE i smoke civic hatch's and also get smocked too lol, it all depends on your setup.

I think your friends thinking hatch's are faster do to they weight a lot less and sometimes this is true and can help your power weight ratio a lot, but civic coupes are not exactly tanks so like i said all depends

i got a 99 coupe and i smash on hatches and all i got is a header and intake for mods which really dont do shat

Lol, that was almost exactly what I was going to say.

With the exact same driver, horsepower, tires, etc, I guess a hatch might be a little faster than a coupe, but there are so many factors that a little weight difference doesn't matter that much.

My swapped coupe beats my brother in law's stock 94cx hatch. But then again, his modded 5.0 Mustang hatch beats my swapped Civic coupe.

yes i also swapped the vvti engine from my xb into my coupe/hatchback conversion then the vtac into the xb

Hatches are a bit lighter thats about it. Same exact engine/power/driver the hatch should be a tiny bit faster technically.

 

hatches are bearly lighter then coupes.
but my buddys kill hatched all the time.

it doesnt matter whether you get a coupe or hatch as long as you have a body kit for aerodynamics, a big wing to hold you down, and if you buy a couple of super jdm parts off ebay you ll be running low 10s easy
