Im gonna double check them fuses. I don't know if i'm gettin spark neither. Distributor is about 2 years old though. But I want to hear the fuel pump turn on. I want to hear the fuel pump prime but it won't. I just need that and i'm pretty sure it'll turn over. But any more suggestions would be appreciated. What could cause the fuel pump to not turn on and lack spark? any ideas? thanks
while someone cranks check voltage at the fuel pump connector with it unplugged. also jumper voltage to your pump and see if it kicks on. if u have voltage at connector: bad pump. if you get the pump to prime when jumpered to power then its something in the wiring or something. good luck.

changed all relays to that are from a working car. also change fuel pump from a working car, tried two ecu's a p28 and a p72 just to check if it primes..no priming whats so ever. chked grounds..help!
okay so all the fuses are good and fuel pumps good. the only thing is had to take of main relay and loop the 12v wire to the fuel pump wire. plug in fuel pump and ran. but stays on, any ideas?
to clearify. took off main relay. wired 12v to fuel pump wire (plug not relay) plugged in fuel pump worked but stayed running. what could be prob? harness? connection to ecu?
the thing is..something is keeping it from priming when i turn the key.
would i be able to do a switch for it? to turn it on start the car and shutt off after..but any ideas to y?? let me know.

searched and seems like people get the same problem but never post if they've ever fixed it or how to. i can jump the fuel pump but it wont prime on the II position. what can cause this?
Try removing the ignitor inside your distributor. You can take it to any auto parts store and have them test it. I'm having the same problem in my del Sol. I've done a load of research on this subject as well, and most ppl just replace their dizzy, for whatever reason(cost of replacing ignitor vs replacing dizzy, lazy, etc.).
Most common causes of no start/no prime:
1. Main relay
2. Ignitor
3. Fuel pump
4. ECU
5. Bad ground(s)

i'm gonna change the dizzy for a known working one hopefully it works..cuz i jumped the fuel pump and sent fuel to the motor and couldnt start it so gonna try dizzy..
The better way to look at this issue is to place the ECU at the center of both spark and fuel. If the ECU does not have power or ground, then the engine will lack both spark and fuel.
ive tried a p28 ecu and a p72 no prime with either ecu..didnt get a chance to get another p28 yet but i figure a p72 should work also..how do i check if the ecu is getting ground and power?
btw, thanks ron!! would there b any chance of the pump priming again if the dizzy was to b changed and gettin spark? somehow i think there connected some way..just confused from trying for 2 days.
wat i'm sayin is can the relay tell the pump not to prime if it can't detect any parts? dont have much knowledge on what the main relay contols. thanks yall
