i have a 91 dx hatch with a b18a1 swap, i blew my tranny out and replacing it with the YS1, ive tried for almost 6 hours twisting and turning and the damn thing wont slide in! any ideas?

 

Your ys1 is the fat input shaft type and your clutch is small. You need a clutch disk for the ys1 92-95

if i had to guess i'd say your old tranny was a 90-91 version, and this new trans you have is a 92-93. the input spline is 1/32 of an inch larger on the 92-93's. this would explain why the larger input shaft of the new trans is not sliding into the smaller 90-91 clutch disc. so either get a different transmission, or purchase a new clutch.
