Default h22 shifter/cables swap question

Ok. I am doing an h22a swap using an m2s4 trans. I am running into some issues with the shifter... I think I have the wrong shifter assy. I have the metal assy. The pivot points don't seem to be the same on the box as the trans. Anyone know if I accually need a plastic assy? Or what might be the problem? I'm pretty sure my bends have nothing to do with it. Thanks guys/girls!

If it doesn't bolt up on the trans side then I'm pretty sure it isn't the correct shifter for that trans.

Did you get the trans separate from the motor?

Kinda tryin to stay away from b series stuff on this build... And I got the trans from an h23 prelude, cables from the h22 prelude, and the shifter box is a metal one. Not sure what its from..... Is it possible that I put the cables in backwards? Or are there different style brackets that bolt on the trans end where the cables go?

Its a possibility that somethings hooked up wrong. But I planned out my bends and everything pretty well I think. So I'm just seeing if there is a part that is different that's throwing me off.

Well the smaller cable end goes to the shifter inside the car and the bigger end goes to the shift arms/levers on the trans. Mount the plates (cabin/trans) first.

This is how it looks on my m2b4-

I dunno, I mean, everything looks right to me. It almost looks like the cables are about an inch or so too long for the box....

Is everything connected or...? Can you take a pic so I can see exactly what's going on? I'm more of a visual person.

It accually looks like the pics posted above. I'm not by a computer because I don't have one. I'm posting from my blackberry and can't do the whole pics thing. I can email and mms pics but can't post them. It just looks like the pivots in the shifter assy were not designed for the throw on the tranny or something.... Are there different boxes or something?

So the issue is...the cable end doesn't fit into the trans levers? Where did you get the cables from?

The trans levers are the same between the vtec h22 trans and non-vtec h23 trans.

yes, it's a PSPEC short shifter. It's discontinued (92-95 prelude) but he may still have some laying around - http://www.pspectuning.com/shifterKits.php

I got the cables from a guy in new castle Pa that I got my h22a from. I then drove to newark ohio to get my m2s4 trans. And lastly I sourced my shifter assy on a forum called ohiohondas.com from a reputable member. I'm still not sure if I have the right assy tho... I looked over it a little bit ago. Every thing looks normal except the shifter assy. The cables just stick back too far. I think the assy is wrong. But I was hoping someone might have run into this with their swap and could have some input on the subject.... Oh and sorry for the double posts, damn phone!

By "everything looks normal" you mean everything is bolted up, shifting fine, and connected then you don't have a problem at all.

If the "cables just stick back too far" then just zip tie it to something or re-route it a different way.

(You can use the 90-93 Accord Cable Shifter Assembly and Cables or 92+ Prelude Shifter Assembly and Cables but DO NOT mix match Shifter Assembly and Cables.)

Ok, this motor was previously in a 92+ prelude. So I'm pgessing I need a 90-93 shifter assy then yes?

It's cable, shouldn't have mounted the box till you got everything hooked up and the cables ran so you know where to put the box. Now, unbolt it, move it back and drill new holes.
