Default Help with a Civic build

I currently own an B6 Audi A4 (bought it after I sold my DC4, it was a garage queen) that I have with me at school. I thought I'd be over the big H, but the feeling of wishing for another one has been eating away at me ever so slowly. It's now at the point where I'm teetering on the edge, and I am about to put up the A4 for sale to get behind another Honda.

I want to go for a Civic this time though, and I have a garage at my new place and a friend who is also my neighbor that does excellent work. So, I have about $10k to play with and the ingredients I'm wanting are:

1. The chassis

I want either an EK hatch (for lightness) but I like the look of EJ/EM1 just a hair more. What do you guys suggest? Either way, it would be awesome if I could find a rolling shell.

2. A complete H2B swap to drop in

3. Coilovers, exhaust and some wheels/tires (probably just some Rotas or something with some sticky rubber for the time being)

4. Anything miscellaneous (seats for example if the shell doesn't have them, nuts & bolts, etc.)

We'll be doing ALL of the labor ourselves, which will save us some dough. Could this all be had for about $10k, or is that pushing it? I haven't been following the forums AS close as I used to when I owned the Teg, so I'm a little left of the loop.

Thanks H-T.

10k will get you a KILLER all motor hatch that is streetable and trackable as well. i like the eg chassis personally but thats your call. i wouldnt get too many suggestions off here though. most are heavily biased and you dont want a cookie cutter honda. add your own style and thoughts.

I too like the EJ/EM1 just a SLIGHT bit more, but the EK hatch will no doubt be a little lighter. I totally agree on not putting out another cookie-cutter swapped Honda, but for now, I think with $10k I'll have money for is the car itself, the H2B swap and some coilovers, wheels and tires. Possibly a little left for other random stuff, but that might pushing.

Once I have more money saved, I DEFINITELY have some really interesting stuff planned, some things that I have rarely, if ever seen before

If you base your decision on weight, get an eg hatch. They're lighter than the ek hatch....I like the ej8/em1 coupes though.
