Just put in an obd2 GSR swap into my obd1 LS ... starts fine but the temp jumps to HOT before the car even starts up.
I've checked and double checked the sensors but maybe I'm missing something? Even swapped out the old fan switch from the LS and put it on the GSR .. nothing. I did buy the rywire subharness and it's plugged in but I haven't pinned the ECU yet ...
Here is a quick vid of what happens ... thanks in advance!!

Looks like a wiring/cluster problem more then a sensor problem....assuming the engine is actually cold when you did that test. If you have/had cranked the engine, then it might be air in the line that needs to be bleed off. My guess is you need to finish your wiring.
Try to swap over the ect aswell.
i dont think the rywire will have anything to do with it because its just vtec and knock etc. unless you unpinned and a pin at the ecu.
be sure to double check youre grounds to..

I thought may have had some plugs wrong but they only reach so far so I don't think that could have got too messed up

try unplugging the single wire temp sensor plug on the head below and to the right of the dizzy looking at it from the passenger side, if the temp drops sending unit is probably bad, if the guage stays up then that wire is grounding somewhere probably between tower engine plug and sensor

thanks! ... we actually unplugged it and it did the same thing. Upon closer inspection, noticed that the sensor on the gsr was totally different than the one that was on the LS .. took the sensor off the LS and now it works
don't know what WAS on it haha
