Default 2001 Acura MDX

I've noticed several problems with my transmission.
One being that the shifts between first and second, second and third are very hard. It sort of stutters to grab kind of like its slipping then grabs. And when it does grab after about a second of slipping it makes the car jump slightly. It also bangs hard when I put it into reverse. CEL is on but I haven't had the time to scan it. Before I go I'd like to get an idea of what could possibly be going wrong.

Whats the problem with my transmission?

Is it only when the trans is cold, or after it warms up?

Honda will tell you not to flush.

Ctrl+F and type in transmission.

why are you waiting? go have the obd II code scan for free at your local autozone... let them reset the light while you're there

goto the following link for your vehicle; it seems there's lots of problems w/ that vintage on the other site

http://www.mdxers.org/forums/forumdi...php?forumid=73

what's the condition of the trans oil? did you do a drain/refill yet? w/ these hondas, it's better to do more frequent transmission oil changes than what's required in the owners manual

how's the condition of the trans and engine MOUNTS? slightly off-topic, but lots of owners w/ this model are having premature failures, i'm guessing due to not using the parking brake to hold the vehicle in place and that puts a stress on the transmission and/or mounts

Have you ever had a tranny service done on the vehicle? If you put in the wrong tranny fluid, ie not Acura, then the tranny will go out.
