Just came across this charming lil 99 crv.. White, 5 speed, AWD. Picked it up from a salvega yard for $The reasoning behind it being so cheap is because It has transmission issues. I know very little about it. . . It has a transmission in the trunk of the car.. the vins dont match the car.. and it appears to be out of a salvage yard yard (the transmission) there is no transmission under the hood the engine is being held up by the motor mounts. . . the body is very straight and the interior (once cleaned up) is very nice and all complete. . .

welcome to the club of RARE! I also have a 5 speed gen 1 crv. Only 5% were made in manual. Worse case scenario, you can use a regular b series tranny, you just wont be awd. So then the rear diff and the drive shaft can come out. Is the drive shaft ok? If it was on the ground it's prob ****ed.

 

the drive shaft was fine til i Fd it up... i pulled on it because i thought the 2 pieces came apart, and now they wont go back together... but its the last of my concerns for now... wow.. 5%... dang...

oh yeah, as far as using any ol b series trans... how would that work.. cus this thing is cable shifted.....

 

just another b20 trans, then go CR-VTEC

 

Yeah Im probably going to just keep the motor stock... and re-sell it..

 

 

oh yeah, stupid comment. Duh, the cables for this thing are like $450 also! I think someone on crvownersclub, or hondasuv has one.

 

You don't need AWD where you are so just make it FWD and sell it.
