Default ECU Auto to Manual Question

Let me start off by saying that I don't own an Accord I have a 98 Isuzu Oasis, however this is the same as a 98 Odyssey which is very similar to the Accord. It's based on the same chassis and has a f23a7. I'm running into some tranny problems and looking at this as an opportunity to convert to a manual transmission. Since it's close I figured this would be the best place to post my question. It will become a project vehicle and an excuse to buy a newer car. I've been doing a lot of research, and the mechanical part of the swap looks like it will be pretty straight forward (similar to the swap i did on my 89 accord from auto to manual). However I would like to be able to get this car inspected and pass emissions. I'm assuming based on my experience that I'll have to either use a different ECU or convert my ECT to a manual ECU so that I don't throw a CEL. I believe I have a PAA ECU currently in the vehicle. My questions being is it possible to convert this to a manual ECU? I've found information on doing this with other ECU's but not this, or if I get a manual ECU from say a 98 4cyl manual Accord will this work? I've read some information that indicates that there is an immobilizer in these? If that is the case can this chip be bypassed or just simply removed? I've done quite a bit of searching and can't seem to find the answer to these questions. Either I'm not looking in the right place or using the right search terms or it's not been attempted yet. Thanks in advance for any information that you can provide me with.

PAA-408 is the equivalent manual ECU from the 1999 Accord.

I've never seen an article related to modifying an OBD2 Small box ECU from auto to manual. I have converted a few JDM small box OBD1 ECUs from auto to manual. But I don't know if that works on the OBD2 ECU.

I did some searching and couldn't find any info on it, does this have an immobilizer chip or am I looking at pretty much plug and play with this ECU?

Shyte...sorry man I totally forgot about the immobilizer crap. Call your local dealership/your mechanic and ask how much it would be for them to program it for your vehicle.

That's the problem, my vehicle doesn't have an immobilizer, this I am sure of, a friend and I installed and security system/remote start and did not have do do anything extra. So if anything I would just want to disable or bypass the one in that ECU.

Yup immobilizer pain in butt just for programming will run around $114-$125 and theres no bypass! yup i said it just for a program that takes 5 min and call a tow truck to tow it there you will waste your time with the code for 3 starts because they dont work. Thats a damn shame. maybe yours my work but my f23a1 01 4cyl ex no work

I read a thread on PGMFI.org that he just removed the Immo-0A chip from the ECU and didn't have any problems running the car. Or you could get in contact with these guys, http://www.doctronic.at/Products.htm From what I read on the site it seems like they may have a solution for you.
