Default blue smoke...updatered

after about 4 miles of driving without the oil cap on..i started getting blue smoke. can this just be the headgasket? or...oil pump and piston rings..?
*edited*
ok. compression test was..
cyl #1 90
#2 30
#3 120
#4 150............yeah...so i took the head off and the #1 piston can be rattled a bit back and forth. #4 does that too(#1 and #4 TDC up)
so the piston rings are bad?

Start with a compression test.

Unless your engine is running like crap, a compression test won't tell you anything useful about your oil control rings or valve seals.

Wow, that thing must have been running like **** if it had 30 psi in one cylinder.

If your pistons are really that loose you need to pull them out and check the cylinder walls. They could be worn excessively or damaged.

yeah. its just alot of work. you think i can get away with just replacing the piston rings? can i reuse the main bearings?
the motor was hottanked and honed 50 miles ago. the crank was balanced etc

Was this engine rebuilt 50 miles ago? Sounds like there is something seriously wrong. Just throwing rings at it is probably not going to fix it. You should have done a leak down test when the head was on to determine where the compression loss was.

well 3 dif people tuned it throughout the year. and e85 being way below 10.1 afr i kept having to change the oil becuase the rings were gettin washed out (gas in oil). awhile ago i had an injector stick open(flooding teh cylinder)a few times until we found the eletrical problem which caused gas to get sqeezed pass the rings. it idled super rich while 3 dif people tried to tune it which didnt help at all.

it sounds like you've effectivly torched your rings. the question is, how much play is between the pistons and cylinder? a little is normal, anything more than normal and the engine will never run right. It can also wear out rings rapidly and cause serious cylinder wall damage.

Even if you don't want to, it needs to be measured for potential oversizing.
