Default Nevada to BOSSTON

ok, i'm kinda skeptic about tinting my windows.
I take trips from LV to Boston once a year to see my friends and family
But.. in boston, your car can not be tinted less than 35%, but since i live in LV.. i can have my car tinted down to 5%.

obviously my whole car won't be 5%, only quarter panels, AS-1 line, and the rest 25%-35%.

would i get in trouble in MA if I drove my car with windows tinted to 5%?

i've been trying to look it up.. but can't really seem to get any answers

I would think they would just call it a hazard and not let you drive. Interesting.

Light sensitivity, I have one. Eye doctor (who is my friend) wrote the wavier out for me for 2 years, works everytime. I have double 5% tint on my husbands dodge truck and they cant touch me

Sounds safe....2.5% visibility... Screw that, I'm running 5% on my back windows and 30% on my fronts. I wouldn't go darker unless I planned on never having the windows closed, which would defeat the purpose. I already have trouble seeing out of the back when reversing.

Agreed, but it's my husbands truck and thats what he wants, I cant see out of it period, so I DON'T drive it, unless it's daylight out, and that is very very RARE. I keep 35% all the way around on mine, but that AL law

Yep, different states have different laws and some include medical waivers allowed for tinted windows.

www.iwfa.com

The tint could, at the very least, be used as a reason to pull you over. The law is up to interpretation of the officer too. Upon seeing the state your car is registered in, the state your driver's license was issued in and hearing that you are visiting for X amount of time the officer might let you go.

if your vehicle is registered in the state of Nevada then you are legal for 5% window tint all the way around. if you are visiting another state (NOT LIVING) they could ticket you to be a dick, but the ticket would get thrown out of court. it's not fesable to ask you to remove your tint as you hit state lines. you are not breaking any laws where your vehicle is registered.

I used to live in vegas and hat 5% all the way around, drove cross country and never got questioned for it. got pulled over for doing 5-10 over and for nevada plates, just to see if i was on the up and up but not one cop gave me **** for window tint... and they shouldn't cuz you are legal!

Cops can't really do anything about your tint when you are out of state.

I live in PA with 18% on my VW. I was driving through a shady development in Delaware back in February looking for my stolen Honda parts and a cop pulled me over and claimed it was for my tint. He was really pulling me over thinking I was looking to buy drugs in that development, but let me go as soon as I rolled down my window and told him where I worked.

I live in MA, as long as the state your car is registered allows it then it will not be a problem.
