Default b18c1 block b16a head

ok i know there are 100 posts about this kind of build. but what i am curious about is the head hasket. i found a site
http://www.c-speedracing.com/howto/c...c/compcalc.php
and the compression table states oem bseries gaskets. 1 layer,2 layer, and 3 layer.
with my set up that im going 4 is this
jdm b16a head oem
usdm b18c1 block oem
will run a zex wet kit also. 55 shot

with oem 3layer 9.80 comp
with oem 2 layer 10.03 comp
with oem 1 layer 10.26 comp

now my question is. how safe is it 2 run a 1 layer gasket?
will i have possible piston slap

or what layer or thickness should i try and run with this set up

There's no such thing as an "oem" one or two layer gaskets.

Well, there is, but they just take a stock one and take the middle out(Spoon).

I don't believe any of those gaskets will allow you to come in contact with the pistons since its a stock piston motor.

Just make sure you run the right plugs and retard your timing when running the nitrous.

I'll bet that if you cc'd the combustion chambers in that head, they'd come out larger than the C-speed calculator says they are. If you factor that into the equation, your compression will be even lower than you thought.

yeah i was curious but i thought since everything was stock/ the combustion chambers and pistons/deck height it would be fine. i have a comclete b16a(jdm) and a b18c1 usdm
if id use the p30 pistons out of the b16a would that raise my compression. im trying 2c what would be a good streetable set up using the parts from each of these.

changing the pistons to something like the p30 is a good place to start for more power.

sounds good. with a 2layer gasket and p30 pistons. does this compression look correct
11.64.
if so what kind of differance would this be 2a stock p72 piston?

if you plug those changes into the C-speed calculator, it will give you a good idea of where your comp ratio will be. I'd cc your head after you install the pistons to really see hwat you'll be looking at.

Decide what cams you're going to use before you decide a compression ration goal.
