Default starter spins,but nothing happens

Just swapped another LS in my DA, now the starter will spin but not the motor. when the starter spins, it doesnt sound likethe solinode is actually kicking though, just alot of spinning. thanks for the help.

need a new starter.
looks like is not engaging or the flywheel teeth are worn out

what he said. or you can try to remove the starter to manually engage it and see the operation of the starter, if not then you might have a faulty flywheel gear new flywheel

Are you hearing the solenoid pop ?

yeah i think what ruben and bigisland said are correct.i'm pretty sure i figured it out. whan i swapped motors i used the tourqe converter from a 97 instead of my 91(yes it a auto lol) and totally forgot about the starter being different. so im thinking my stock starter isn't making contact with the 97 tourqe converter because the teeth are further back,as to the starter differences, the teeth/solinode on the 91 are inset and the teeth/solinode on the97 stick out about 1 inch before any engaugment. so i have to swap converters out. sucks. thanks for all the help.
