Why won't this stupid car stay running?
So it's a b18c1 motor, car has been sitting for about a year. It fires right up, runs for about 1-2 minutes then suddenly dies and I can't start it again until I wait like 5-10 minutes. The car basically either starts very well or not at all(it just cranks and you can tell there is no way its going to start) but after I let it sit for a bit, it fires right up at the next start up.
I just changed the MSD blaster coil, anyone have any suggestions? This is killing me!
Thanks!
BTW I'm drinking Surfers on acid right now.

drain the tank however or do whatever, but some fresh shell vpower 93 octane should do the trick

Yeah but think about it. The car starts RIGHT up and runs great and than suddenly dies after 1-2 minutes. I than can't start it again no matter how hard I try for another 2 minutes. I can repeatedly do all this, so how does it make sense the gas is bad?
gas usually seperates out and gets water and crud in it, but that takes a long time
if you really want to test somethign out just go out now and jump around in the car or whatever to shake up the gas tank and try starting it again
The car will be able to supply enough fuel to run for that lil bit of time than slowly loose fuel pressure and die. If you were able to read the a/f ratio you would probably see it lean out till it dies. Change the filter, it was probably going bad, than sitting for a year, than sucking all the sediment that was hanging in your tank clogged it.
bad gas (just because you replaced gas in fuel tank doesn't mean the gas/deposits in the rest of the lines is safe), fried valves, main relay, engine, paint, body.
Does water float on top of gas?

my old civic did sorta the same thing when I bought it. It would run fine until it warmed up, then stutter badly and stall unless I kept it revved.
needed a new dizzy and it ran like a champ
