Default Blown Gsr Head Pics

Can this be fixed? The damage did not past the valve seats but this chamber is done for, any one know a good shop who could fix this? I am willing to have the chambers ported but i'm not too sure what the pros/cons of doing this. Please Help! TIA

I will say no to fixing it. You will probably spend more money trying to. Plus the machine shop will say no. Just get a used head and have that machined.

Lol, that head can easily be fixed. But if you are going to fix then it should perform much better than original.

Like mar778c said that is actually an easily fixed head , in comparison to some of the others I have seen. You just have to decide is the money you are going to put into repairing it, worth it to you? Or should you just go buy another . . Your call

Chamber fully welded
Chamber re-shaped and blended
Machined with new valve seat inserts
New valve guides
Valve job

That is going to be a lot of work

Buy a new head.

Thanks all, I know its pretty brutal but I'll need to get a quote before looking into buying a new head. Anyone know a good shop in Socal I can get a quote from?

dont listen to the trash it comments, that head is fixable, just take it to a reputable head shop and have them inspect the head.

Cheaper to buy another head, and maybe a Gsr head this time cuz that's a b16 head.

Bro who are you kidding..

That head "might" be fixable if someone's willing to put the hours in.. maybe..
thats only after he's spent enough money to buy a fully built head.. with a nice street polish..

Not to mention, w/e is done to that chamber, is going to have to be done to all the others to make it even bro... That head is probably %15 on the fixable side.. and will take weeks, maybe even months..

Thats horrible, dont "feed" the trash comments.. that head isn't worth fixing.

im kidding no one, if seen heads that don has fixed, and they looked far worse then that, so i know you know who im talking about. sure you can go buy a used head and take that risk or you can put that head in the shop get some nice work done to it and have almost a entirely new head when done.

to me it will cost more than buying a stock gsr head, but i would spend more to get a better head in return.

if he is one a budget then yes buying a new used head would be better, but you and me both know that that head can be turned into something better, its not like its trash. just like most blown blocks arent trash.
