Prelude H22A motor into 98 CL immobilizer issue
Hi all, I have a 98 Acura CL with a 98 prelude H22A motor installed and I'm having an Immobilizer issue. I will post specifics when I see if this post goes through so I won't lose a lengthy post (again)
Cool, it went through this time. Anyway I have a 98 CL with a prelude H22A installed. I used the CL harness and the Prelude ECU. It was a little time consuming but I made up my own Harness at the ECU and everything is matched but the Immobilizer. The Prelude uses the first generation Immobilizer system with the dreaded red learning key and only one wire to the ECU ( imocode) and the CL dash harness uses the second generation immobilzer system with 3 wires ( imocode, imoen and imolamp). Short of buying a new prelude immobilizer unit (with the learning key), an immobilizer receiver, and going to the junkyard to get the connectors to build an Immobilizer harness is there an easier way to get the immo code into the ECU?. I'm a factory trained Honda and Acura master tech and I've done a few swaps but thgis is the first time I've had a chassis and motor with 2 different Immo systems. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
