I personally like Jackson helmets. I've had my Journeyman for about 4 years and I have no complaints. I might get a TIG only helmet and use my Journeyman for MIG only, but I would still get a Jackson.

if your thinking about the speedglass then get the 4 sensor one as i get flashed all the time in tight areas from the 2 sensor. on a side note i have a elite and i love it if you can afford the extra i would get that
Look at the Jackson NexGens, those are definitely on par with the Miller Elites. I had one for a bit and it worked great. Night and day compared to a shitty Harbor Frieght auto-dark. And I was doing production TIG with some MIG, never got flashed once. I want to try out a Speedglas next though, I've seen some on Craigslist for under $200. I got my Jackson for $175 in pretty good condition
Nobody else using the Optrels? I've tried a few other helmets, never for very long though. Whenever I put mine back on I feel like I'm TIG'ing in hi-def. It's also got a grinding mode (switch on the side) with an LED indicator inside, and it's solar powered so I never need to deal with batteries or anything.
Here's where I got it from, found the link. The price went up, I looked and I got mine for $265 shipped back in December. link

I love my NEW Digital Elite.. Its the newest hood by miller and its serves its purpose very very well. Its all digital now so setting it up is a breeze.

I got a digital elite a few months back and love it, tried a few others here at work and didn't like them as much. Plus they are a steal from IOC, well they were so hopefully they still are.
i have been using a speedglas utility for the longest time. then my uncle gave me the speedglas 9002x. i love that hood.
the speedglas 3m hoods are very light weight and durable! I did a lot of hard facing and build up welding in the past, which was 15-20 min of welding 1/8" fluxcore, and the 3m lenses were the only ones our forge shop could get to hold up to that kind of heat and abuse. After witnessing that i don't see any reason to switch to a miller hood!! As far as tig welding goes, with the sensitivity turned up, i have only been flashed a handful of times in tight areas. I would suggest one of the 3m hoods with more than 2 sensors if you are "tigging" in tight areas... but then again you are going to be over your $200 budget....
well guys,
i decided to go for the miller elite digital eventualy
does anybody know a shop who sells them AND ship worldwide? because no one on ebay will,
