Default anyone make their own hondalog usb adapter?

I am looking for advice on making my own USB adapter to datalog. Something similar to the hondalog unit http://www.moates.net/product_info.p...products_id=79

I know i could fork out $30 for it, but i'd rather make one

Thanks

Yup, it's easy.

If you actually design a PCB board, it'll end up costing about the same or more for a single prototype run. If you're going to do it some ghetto way, it can be done cheaper than $30, but don't expect reliability.

If you don't know what components to use and whatnot, don't bother. If you're trying to learn, choose a project that will actually land you some experience. This is way too basic.

If the whole point of this is learning you should definitely design your own for experience.
