car seat in jdm crx rear seats.
so ive been doing a little searching and reading online about the jdm crx rear seats. i figured since i have 2 1/2 year old my crx days were history. ive owned a few of them and always wanted another. well i came across a 90 crx si with 65,000 miles on it i want to buy. the only way i could buy it is if my sons car seat will fit in the back seat. i assume it could and i could just move the passenger seat up. i only have him every weekend and every wednesday night so its not going to be an every day thing. as long as hes safe and wont fly out my rear hatch or through my windshield in an accident.. anyone ever seen a car seat in a crx? im just wondering. sorry if its been covered i searched and i havent been a part to this forum in forever i have an eg sedan now.
thanks
thanks
yes the car seat fits i have seen one crx with a car seat in it. i would definately reinforce the seat though since u have precious cargo sitting on that back seat.
also, the rear seat of a crx has much much much less room for your legs then the rear seat of a hatch.

my buddys mom baught a crx si way back in the day when they fisrt came out (which didnt come with back seats) she put him in the back until he wasnt big enough to fit lol
My kid has had his kid in the rear JDM seat setup in a CRX. The carseat works just fine, but I am assUming you mean booster seat. The booster seat will fit even better all it does it raise him up and it does not hit the glass. Remeber they do make different brands and styles of car and booster seats...
If you have to drive him around in the CRX, why not put his car seat in the front? There's no airbag to popout. Of course the bigger pita is you won't be able to open the passenger door with that damn door mounted seatbelt, but him being 2 1/2, you should be able to reach over from the driver side or thru the window

i tried the car seat thing the rear seat is too small. there is less room in a crx than in the hatch. very unsafe though. Honda made an optional lap belt just for the passenger seat for the crx.
is a car seat safe to be in the passeger seat? i have always put my son in the back seat. maybe just because i had one. i never see kids in the passenger seat. convenience reason or safety reason? i read about tether locations in a crx and i know they have some sort of accomodations for kids but i dont know how well it would actually work.
crx is not safe. For one if your kid is in the back seat and you get hit in the rear the hatch glass is gonna come tumbling down. If you put your kid up front make sure you get a cage.
Main reason is air-bags. Next time you are in an air-bagged car, check the warnings. Says do not put kids up front, unless they are a certain height/age or something, due to air-bags being fatal.
In my own humble opinion (honestly) I would NEVER put a child in the back of a CRX. the seats are smaller than a hatchback's seats and only have the lap belt. I would consider safety first and just say no to putting it on.
