Just out of curiosity, how much modification is required in the engine bay to retrofit a k-series into an EF? I know that may be kind of vague, but I'm still very much a novice as far as cars are concerned. I'd like to do a K20 swap eventually, but I know in the EP3's, the shifter is up on the dash and don't know if that would cause any issues. Will I need to cut the firewall to make it fit, fabricate a custom exhaust, etc? I'm really liking your project, btw. Keep up the good work.

Are you doing this on a a ef? if so Check this out http://k20a.org/forum/showthread.php?t=1040
no need to cut the firewall. the shifter theres a few options now out there in the market, unless u want the ep3 shifter. check http://k20a.org/forum/showthread.php?t=1040 gives an idea.
