Default can i get some info on legit engine swaps to do in my 88 ef??

i tried to search this but too many other thing pop up and i don't feel like looking for 6 hours to find info that someone can just help me out with.

i don't know much about the honda engines yet since i just got my civic a month ago so bare with me


i want to have a pretty quick car but not spend 10,000 on an engine

i need to know whats better the b16 or b18?

and whats a spoon engine?

i can pic up a b18 in ca for $100 but i have heard go with the b16 but i wanna get some info

what are some other possible engine swaps

and how hard are the swaps??

if 10 grand is your spending limit then go with a jdm type r swap with cable-hydro conversion to utilize the itr lsd tranny, and convert to obd1 or obd2. that's what i'd do. either way if you go b you are going to have to buy at min. custom mounts and shift linkage, and convert your car to MPFI if it isn't already.

heh if you had the money for a Spoon engine that would be a good idea....just a Spoon block is good enough with a fully built head haha anyways, on "topic" as daddy likes to say

DCRB said it really
Swap motor mounts
Swap linkage
DPFI to MPFI conversion
axles
ECU

If anything I would get a JDM ITR B18C or if you have the dough, B16B from a CTR. They make for great power and good amount of rev's.

Go B18B Ls with a clutch cable LSD Tranny... Should be pretty cheap get the correct previously stated parts... Once your bored and saved up enough money you can go LSVTEC
