recently have been having trouble with my alarm.
keyfob was always a little bit tricky on it, sometimes youd have to shake it inorder for it to work properly.
as of recently its gotten so bad that Im afraid If it fails all together ill be stuck somewhere.
Is there anyway to buy a replacement keyfob but, keep the same alarm?
idk if its necessary but, the fcc:id on the back of the keyfob is pretty worn and cant be read.
where would I find the information needed to purchase the correct replacement If possible?

its a 97 ej8.
the alarm was on the car when I bought it, so I cant really tell you much about it.

 

You will have to stick your head up under the dash and find the alarm brain and get a make and model number, a lot of alarms, remote starts and alarm/remote start combo units use that style of remote. 94

 

looks like an old DEI but like th man said you need to pull the brain and get a model number so you can get the right remote

 

alright thanks guys, I will have to take a look at it.
the remote had a bad battery connection and I solved the problem But I still wouldnt mind finding a back up.
Ill get the serial numbers off the brain, and keep you posted.

I just took a picture of my remote's board and they sent me a replacement. It was pricey though, like 50-70 bucks if I remember correctly.

 

see id rather have a complete replacement than just a new board.
did you have to reprogram it?
