Default f22b1 dist question...

im putting a f series in my eg coupe... but it looks like the dist has a external coil.

can i take that out and run it without it since the chassis never had that?

or would i have to run a stock/aftermarket msd unit?

i have the jdm (f22b sohc vtec) version of the f22b1. it is internal coil not external coil. are you sure that the f22b1 is external coil, maybe jdm and usdm use different dizzy?

i have this motor in a 92 accord ex. oringinally the 92 ex was external coil, but i converted it to internal coil for the f22b.

well on majestic honda it shows the part number for the external coil.

can i just run a msd unit on it and call it a day?

Sure you could but why bother? It would be the same wiring process to hook up an MSD as it would be to wire the OEM external coil.
