wire identification help - searched
This question is about a 1993 Honda Civic EX coupe.
I've been having a lot of problems with my battery staying charged lately. The alternator works, so I'm assuming it's draining somewhere else. I started looking for bad wiring throughout the car, and there are quite a few splices. The problem is that a lot of them are improperly spliced, as in two wires touching, and then wrapped in electrical tape. I'm in the process of resplicing all of the connections, but I've found a ground wire that's bolted to a metal plate under the dash that is cut and I cannot find the other end. It's orange and white, and located behind the panel underneath the steering wheel. Just to the left of the wheel above the fuse box. If anyone knows what this wire is supposed to be grounding, please let me know. I've been searching for a while and haven't been able to turn up anything.
Also, I unraveled some tape and the ignition ground came apart. One end still has a connector on it, but the other end fell out. All of the headlight wires were cut. The radio harness was cut. I'm wondering what else I'm going to find.
One more thing. There are two ACG (S) fuses slots, but only one had a fuse in it. The other had a plastic spacer. Should both slots have fuses? I also searched for this, and couldn't even find out what ACG (S) means.
Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you!
