Default EG8 keeps over heating... inquire within. I need your help!

I just bought a EG8 5 speed, at first when i drove it the car, it over heated with in 3 miles (city). the car over heated as soon as i turned on the AC. the temp gauge went down to its operating temp because i had shut off the AC and turned on the heat, also the fan kicked in. i thought it was the thermostat and maybe the sensor next to the thermostat i replaced that.

Now that it is replaced, it turns out that after 10 miles (city and highway) the car starts to over heat again. this time though the car over heated with the car on the highway. the ac was on full blast it didn't over heat until i entered onto the highway. once again i shut off ac and turn heat on, the fan blows and it back, but this time it the needle is rising and falling back to opertating temp. once again the fan kicks in and its ok for a few minutes.

My brother looks at the radiator and tells me that the previous owner put in an automatic rad. with automatic rad, they have a cooling spout to the auto tranny. as of this moment the spout is covered and when i take off the cover plug, no coolant is released.

***main question***-- can a automatic transmission radiator cause over heating in a 5 speed manual EG8???

thanks if you got this far anything would be nice...

Is there any coolant loss?

I'd start by bleeding the cooling system:

1) Park the car on an inclined driveway with the front end higher than the rear.

2) Push the dash heater lever/**** to MAX heat.

3) Follow the directions in the diagram below (hint: the bleed bolt is located where the upper radiator hose connects to the engine):

It could be a bad radiator, but try bleeding and flushing the system before replacing parts.
