just bought a 96 civic hatch. b18c block, gsr head, itr internals, jdm itr b18c ecu, full cat exhaust. obd2, no leaks, no engine light, everything works. will i pass smog

haha sounds like a mess of a motor. you should already have itr internals if you have a b18c motor. why would you list them separately?

 

not a very smart question at all.

b18c could be GSR so it wouldn't have itr internals
b18cR would have it.
B18C5 is the type r

 

i believe b18c is the jdm type r motor and yes it would have itr internals...b18c5 is the usdm type r..never heard of (b18cR??)

geeze ppl are asses... the kid is new obviously and just got into the honda scene. imma assume since ur name is 96civicsd ur from san diego, ca. and no you wont cause when the smog station pops your hood and see's the wrong motor there he is gonna tell you you cant get the car smogged unless its BAR'd for that motor. best bet is to pay someone to pass you or swap it out for the stock motor and swap it back in when smog is done and you pass.

b18c is jdm spec ITR motor AND jdm sir-g which is similar to the usdm gsr motor with higher compression.

 

 

b18c = JDM ITR

b18c5 = USDM ITR

b18c1 = GSR

 

 

lol. so i am new to the honda scene and the website. trying to learn as much as i can. so the smog is taken care of. as far as what i got the block says b18c. im also tryin to get info on what swap is legit for the civic so i can get it bar'd. thanks for all the info. good lookin mtxwrl.

 

jdm swaps are illegal in califonia now, inless its a replacement.

it is true, b18c is a jdm type r, so yes it would have itr internals because its a itr.
b18c5 and cR are the same exact thing, somebody just felt like giving it another name.
