last night, I received a letter from Honda dealer, saying that "due to high demand, we are in desperate need to acquire some preowned 1999 honda civic vehicles. So we would like to exchange your current 1999 honda civic with any brand new 2009 honda vehicle".

Unbelievable!

Am I too lucky or is it just a promotion commercial for the new cars?

its just a trick to get you in there.

 

If all it says is let's swap vehicles, they aren't including the little detail where you throw in about $20k. Believe me!! I work at a dealership and they are in it to make money. If we didn't make money the factories wouldn't send any cars to us. It's only a promotion, nothing more nothing less.

 

They dont mean straight up trade most likely.

 

hahaha....go in there and demand a straight trade. Threaten to sue them with false advertisement then when you get the new FG, sell it and buy like 3 Ej1's to build. lmfao...hahahahahahaha

 

go there and say

"hi, yes i recieved this letter (show it) , and i came to pick up my 09 civic"

then , if they want you to give money (off course they will), say you are going to sue them for fake advertising, or something like that (if you are really sure it doesnt say you have to pay anything or call here for more info, or something like that! hehehehehehe)

 

yeah we urgently need to take your $2k car and give you a 25k car. lol. buy a used car. get more for the money.

Always read the fine print. These guys have better lawyers than we do, it says somewhere on there that they won't straight up swap cars with you.

 

its just a way to get you into the dealership, my girl got that same thing for her 06 ex which are a dime a dozen

 

all they wanna do is get you in there since their not selling any cars so they can get you into a new car to make payments so they make money. Their not gonna trade you an 09 civic your 00 honda would go bankrupt.

 

yep I got one awhile back for my 97 civic hx, I'm not talking this year or anytime soon but years ago I did, the letter stated that the dealer was trying to fullfill select used vehicle requests and mine was listed, well something to that extent... needless to say I threw that right in the trash and am still driving the wheels off it.

first I knew what I had and I wasn't about to let it get away from me and second I couldn't afford a new car which led to number three tossing it in the can.

 

yeah there trying to to get your money but you should look into that kinda stuff one of my friends saw a best buy add for a samsung 50" plasma for 9.99 so he went in there and asked for one. Sure enough they screwed up the ad and he ended up walking out of best buy with the tv after paying 9.99 plus tax. Apparently they were obligated to sell it if you came into the store and they had them in stock.

 

What an embarrassing ploy by the dealerships lol.

 

yea i remember when circuit city had an ad out for madden 09 for ps3 and it was supposed to be ps2 for $30 the first week it came out i brought the ad in and got it for the $30 price.

 

$10 tv trumps video games all day long.

ive seen other companies do this too. they wanted my friends 2.5rs suby(gd) so they sent him the same thing.
