do i have the right ecu for my zc
I bought a 92 civic with a sohc zc that is non vtec. after i hooked up a tach to it i noticed that it shuts down exactly at 3000 rpms. with a little digging around it turned out i have p p05 ecu. the guys at the local honda dealership said it came from an integra xs in japan. the car only came in a 4 door auto. i have a manual tranny and im wondering if this is why its been bogging down and not having the power it should. i have a pg7 in the garage but i don't know if it would be my best option. what should i swap it with for the best performance?
P08 is VTEC? Are u sure? Then what is P28? Because P28 Is vtec also? Is that a B16 ECU or something? Sorry, I dont know all the codes for the OBD1 ECU's. But I have a P28 and I thought that P08's were NON VTEC and P06 was like a B8 ECU.
Yep.
If I wasn't sure I wouldn't have posted it.
SOHC Vtec (correct ECU for the D16Z6 and JDM SOHC VTEC ZC. It can also be used on the OBD1 D15B Vtec, although the fuel and timing maps wont be perfect (they will be awfully close though)
The P28 is a vtec ECU. The B16As used a P30 (OBD1 and OBD2A) and a P2T (OBD2B found in the '99 - '00 Si)
P06s were orignally for the D15B7 found in DX/LX sedans and base model Del Sols. The D15B8 boat anchor found in USDM CX hatchbacks used the PO5.
