Default Got a Quote for Headliner Repair

Hey guys I got a quote to repair the headliner of my 2001 civic sedan for $130 for material and labor. I wanted HT's opinion so I know if I should go through with it or if the price is too high. Thanks guys!

Well basically Im getting the whole headliner replaced. I have no pics of it, but the edges of the headliner, the front and the rear, are coming off and sagging (the rear is really bad).

i'd say $120 isn't bad if the entire thing is being replaced. it's a bitch job on some cars because the entire interior basically has to get ripped out to get at the headliner.

Price a new one out from dealer, then figure out what your maximum threshold is for repair versus replacement.

hmm im guessing its around $70 for labor. I'll try to call the dealership, but my bet is that its going to cost more.

dude ive done a lot of interior work to recover your head liner should be easy. the hardest part should be taken it out. you and a friend could do i t for half that price a can of spray adhesive should be $7 or $8 bucks plus what ever fabric you wanna recover it in. spray both sides and press it together too easy man

A dealership will for sure be more then $80 dollars an hour for labor, I would not even bother with them.

dealerships will not consider the headliner to be a part that can be repaired..it will be several hundred dollars at the dealer...

The problem with a headliner that is sagging is a lot of the time, its the foam behind it that has deteriorated. you can hit it with spray adhesive till next thursday...its still gonna come down. I had mine redone over the summer and paid about 120 for parts/labor.

hmm my headliner is starting to come off as well, but I went to an upholsterer and they gave me an estimated quote of about $100.00+tax which includes parts and labor. When I had my golf back in the day though I repaired the headliner myself which wasn't too hard.

I'd say $130 for materials and labor isn't that bad at all. It's a headache getting those things out and if you don't have patience replacing the fabric, it's probably better to just pay someone to do it. Are you just using the standard fabric or something custom?

I had my Xterra headliner done for $105 about a month ago. The guy came to my house and did it in the driveway, pretty convenient.

agreed, I have little patience so I'd shop around for who does quality work and pay to have it done.
