Default Wohooooo! A/c

Well, i tried to charge the a/c the other day, and discovered a giant leak in my condenser So i jumped down to one of the local import shops, and got a used condenser for $25, spent an hour mangling the old one out, popped the new one in and bada bing!!! Blows cold!!!! Hehehe, first time since the b16 got in ive had a/c!!!!Its the little things in life. its so hot here in florida that i was murdered without it. I think i might postpone selling the crx for a little while

My A/C blows so cold my face gets numb.

The work that it took to put that damn HaSport kit in for the A/C was definitely worth it. Although I can't figure out why my idle drops so low when it's turned on. It drops to where the car almost ideas. Any ideas? At any rate, A/C rules!!!!

No ac during the summer in FLA is suicide...my old CRX didn't have ac and I almost died whenever I sat in it for more than 30 seconds.

I thought I was the only one who experienced this, the A/C was fine with a stock b16 motor, and all the vacuum /dashpots connected, but when I installed 97 GSR cams and adjusted the valves she idles so low that I would die out at a stoplight from downshifting. Now the problem is even worse since I installed an ITR intake manifold, 66mm billet T/B (which elimanated usind the vacuum dashpot), and cam gears. I have to do the heel toe action when I'm at a light only trying to keep the car alive, otherwise I turn it off when I come to a stop then turn it back on when I get going (I forsee a a faulty climate control real soon if I keep this up)!!!!!! Oh yeah and not to include maybe a new starter, and possibly a battery for always starting after she dies when I don't catch the idle dropping in time. My idle is set at around 700-800 I haven't tried to adjust it higher, the throttle cable and idle adjustment is a real pain on these billet t/b. My overall view is that the b16 is very sensitive to engine mods that greatly affect air:fuel which a/c doesn't help when it draws that power as well.

This will happen to almost any older car (honda). It's just a given and something you learn to deal with.

When the compressor engages, it's of course going to rob power...and strain the idle. You can adjust your idle higher if it's too annoying for you.
