Default desk I built

I got sick of sitting at shitty desks and not having one that fit the criteria of what I really wanted.

1.25" square tubing, red oak, stainless steel hardware.

I got some more extensions, integrated electronic device ports, and a few other gizmos to go with it in plan.

Is that red oak ply or laminated on the sides? I've never seen a piece that big...

I am very regretful to admit that it came from ikea. It seemed like a great idea while standing in the store. Also, when I was in the store, I realized that there's an ikea desk that is similar to the one i made. I got pissed! But then I realized that it was $350, and it was particle board with simulated wood paneling. And the structure of the desk was made as cheaply as possible. Something that would last maybe 10-15 years.

After I installed the wire management piece, I realized that it was kinda worthless. On the bottom of most surge protectors, there are eyes for screws where you can mount the thing on a wall, or underneath a table. This combined with some hooks would have been a better idea. But the ikea bracket was $10

Moral of the story, ikea sucks.

It's a 4'x8' piece of 3/4" red oak ply. The desk is 4'x6' (minus the curve).

Nice desk, and nice fluid mechanics book!

The metal section reminds me of Eddie Van Halen's Frankenstrat.
