91 ef si b18.. so i took my valve cover off yesterday to paint, cleaned everything off right and reassembled. today when i leave for coffee car does not start and back fires.. sooo my stoner *** realizes i switched 2 and 4, still no start and backfiring. now i have pulled plugs and wires and there is oil in the plugs? cleaned that up and blew out with air hose and still no start. any suggestions ht??

 

Replace the valve cover gasket and the spark plug tube O-rings like you should have done the first time you pulled the valve cover.

Pull the plugs to allow any residual oil to drop into the combustion chamber.

 

did u check if theres any spark and check the fuel and the timing

 

i did pull the plugs.. and the valve cover gasket and all o rings are only 2 wks old, so i cleaned them all very good scraped off all rtb with razor off of head, do i really need a new one??.. and the distibuter or anything for timing was nvr messed with so how could it have gotten out of time?

 

oh and checking for spark now, plugs and wires less than a year old tho

alright common ht i need help... jst did all new gaskets and still it wont run, any other suggestions?

 

if all you muffed up was the firing order then its quite likely that order is still incorrect. triple-check that ****
