now that it's summer and pretty much at home doing nothing so i'm going to take my DA apart and give it a new heart-transplant and maybe change the color while i'm at it...

 

pics? what motor are you swapping into it? are you just swapping or building it as well? what color are you painting it? details man, details. gl

 

a few weeks ago, i had picked up a B16A2 block from a friend of mine randomly. idk what i was thinking but hey! it was pretty cheap and i couldn't let it pass...




and not too long after verifying if the block is up to par, it was sent to a local machine shop for inspecting the cylinder walls, and check if i may need to have it decked...

 

i'm using a B16A2 bottom block. and since i have a complete pr3 head that's been sitting in the garage for a while now, i'll be using that for this build. as for the paint, i was thinking "honda fit color- storm silver metalic"

i'll be posting more pix when i get the block back sometime this week

 

PISTONS-
i've decided to toss out the pistons that came out of the block and go for std size CTR's and bump up the compression ratio..




i'm off to the shop tom'z and have the pistons pressed into the rods.

You know when hondas were hitting the scene big circa 97-99 I never liked the DA's but they have grown on me over the years. Good luck and nice job so far.

i'm still thinking about how i should start off with the new color. anybody's opinion? i seriously am thinking about gutting out every little piece and have everything painted...
should i? or should i just leave it the way it is for now and worry about that later? i just don't want to have alot of things going on at once since i'm still in the process of the motor build.

keep it the OEM color, a full color change is a lot of work.

 

What camshafts you gonna use bro?

 

leave it oem black
looks like the paint and body are straight
if you want a cleaner look, get "jdm" parts
like visors, lights, tint, wheels, sidemarkers, carbon fiber parts, etc.
