Default Extended Lug Stud Install - Wheel Bearing Question

Hey guys,

Quick question on my extended lug stud install. So I pulled the hub with a slide hammer, very easy but the inner race of the wheel bearing came off with the hub. My question is, Can I reuse the wheel bearing or should they be replaced now that its been seperated?

Ive heard some people saying to use the axle nut to press it all back together but that doesnt seem to be working and I dont want to impac the axle too much and gull the threads.

BTW this is on a 92 civic hatch with JDM 5-lug swap if that matters all at.

I have reused them before when they have done that without any issues, but that doesnt mean its the correct way. If the car is gonna be raced I would error on the side of caution. How much is a new bearing vs. how much you have in the car?

If you can find someone with a hub-tamer that will pull it back together with no issues. Unfurtunately hub tamers cost around $400. You might try getting a long sturdy bolt and some fender washers to pull it all together

You can reuse the race.

Pretty hack, but it works. Torque down the axle nut, loosen, and re tourque a few times to ensure proper seating of the races.

For as cheap as they are I just get new ones. I plan on that with my wheel stud installs.

Its highly suggested that you replace the wheel bearing. Its added safty/insurance and they will really make a difference. (Ride quality)

I personally wouldn't reuse them. Pay to buy new bearings and not worry about your wheel shaking.

Also i hope you are spot/tack welding the rear of the studs to insure they don't spin after a while.

I did it on mine a couple years ago. Worked just fine for another 3 years before switching to DSS stage 5's.
