Default custom intake manifold

I want to make a custom intake manifold. And I'm wondering wat is the best design for our hondas. I just want some ideas that u guys have. I know the less bends the better. But I want to see what everyone has in mind. Thanx

I can tell you that making it a center-feed will make good gains.
Look at IPS, they have good power gains, and they have a central TB.
Use the largest "bells" inside that you can fit.(air horns?)
Don't make the plenum massive if it's n/a.
Good luck!

It's for a n/a. What about the runners. Which are the best for high compression engines. I searched and got mixed answers..short runner= ?? Opposed to longer runners? Also angle of injectors?

in my opinion, you cant get much better injector fire angle than oem from honda. the fuel shoots right on top of the intake valve.

ok cool. i was thinking to put the injectors before the tb. i was thinking that it would make air/fuel mixture better

bad idea, you will run into distribution problems with anything before the TB.

You should be able to calculate what your runner dimensions and plenum size should be for the goals you have for your specific setup. The real question in this thread should be what formulas should I use for designing an intake manifold, and where do I get them?

How would that be a bad thing really?

Dont feel bad i just did the same thing. If you make some sketches i would be willing to try and draw it up in solidworks for you and maybe do some computer flow testing when i have some spare time.

Take a look at some of the honda cbr's from a few years back. Their intake manifold used 8 injectors. They had the first set on the itbs firing at the back of the valve. The second set was further up the intake track and sprayed at higher rpms. Having the injectors further away allowed for better fuel atomization.

so idea of moving them further up is good (would recommend doing this with a secondary set of injectors), but might be simpler to stick with one per cylinder to avoid the distribution problems mentioned earlier.

no problem, i honestly think that is why these b-series heads are so efficient. what other manufacturer sprays the injectors right on top of the valve like honda does.
