Default Who Would Trade a 1988-1991 4-Door DX for a 1990 STD Hatch in Good Shape?

I recently acquired a 1990 STD hatch that's been in my family since it was new in 1990. The car runs good and doesn't smoke at all. It's in good overall shape in terms of the body with a few exceptions, but no major damage that some body filler and some love couldn't fix.

Anyways, I've been thinking that I want a 1988-1991 4-door since I already have a fast hatch in my 1992 hatch, so the question is this:

Would anyone like to trade a Civic 4-door with a good body for a nice, running 178,000 mile hatchback?

I know it defies the "being fast" logic, but like I said I have a car for that already.

This would be a great deal for anyone who got stuck with a heavier 4-door when what they really wanted was a nice, light hach in good shape.

Hell I'll trade even if the 4-door doesn't run. I just want a good bodied 4-door to drop a stock D16A6 in or something.

LX, DX, or even an EX (not likely) it doesn't matter.

Well?

I'd keep the 4-door as a get around car and pimp out your 92 hatchback more.

No big deal really man. I am wanting to trade my 1990 STD hatch for a 1988-1991 4-door. That's the whole idea for me:

Keep the 4-door as a nice back-up car or a person hauler and focus my attentions still on my 1992 hatch.

Thanks for the suggestion though.

I'd trade ya, if I had a 4 door. But if it was a EX I'd keep the brakes.

Me, I love the 4th gen HB the most, so I would sell the 5th gen, with the money buy the 4 door if needed still. Then I would drop a b18 in the 4th gen. Thats my opinion, and the route I would take.

Good luck, hope you get the 4 door you want!

Have you seen my 5th-gen hatch?

Sorry bro, but IMO it is way too valuable to me to sell. Running 13.3 on a stock B18C5 motor is pretty fun if you ask me, and the car for the most part is trouble free. That's my fast car. I also run the SCCA soloII stuff and the car handles like you would not imagine. I have full suspension on it and brakes, wheels/tires, etc. To try and get an EF/ED up to that level I'd easily spend WAY too much money trying.

Here's a link to it:

https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=186832

That might give you an idea on why the EF/ED isn't the priority in terms of money invested.

Thanks for the input though!

No up close pics, but here's one where you can see it pretty good:

Nvermind all those other Hondas in my driveway - typical Sunday afternoon.

Anyways the hatch is in great shape. It has 180K miles on it and the motor too, but the tranny was replaced at 150K with another 40K 4-speed.

I'm not sure if I want to outright sell it. I'd like to have a spare car to drive if mine is down, or if it's raining really bad, etc.

A 4-door would be ideal for me really even though this hatch is so damn clean.

It has some body flaws, but then again what 12 year-old car doesn't?

Paint is good and not oxidized or faded, and the body only has one or 2 spots that would need some good massaging from a good body guy.

The only way I'd really sell it is after dropping in a rebuilt D16A6 and getting some good money for it since it would be worth a ton more with a fresh Si motor in it already, but by then I might like the car too much and keep it.
