Question about used tires
I just have a quick question.
My friend was just wondering if there is anything he can do to try to get his money back from buying an old tire.
To sum the story up my friend bought a used tire from this tire place (forgot what the name was) and not even a week the tread came off a quarter of the tire. I looked at the tire and it dates back to 2001.
If you were in my friends position what would you do? I've never gone through this so I don't really know what advice to give him.

All Used tire are Sold As is... I wouldn't trust my car with used tires unless it's only for couple of days. But it don't hurt to go back and see if they could do anything about it.
used tires are fine as long as you check the date and inspect the construction before you buy it. i would avoid anything older than 2004 at the oldest and also pay very little. you can get new half way decent tires like the federal 595 for around $50ea in most honda sizes. if i was buying budget tires, this is what i would get. either that or closeouts. there are some 205 40 17 dunlop sport maxxes on ebay for $279 a set which is a steal on a flagship tire.
