So I bought a 95 civic dx with the d15, took it out and had a some performance shop install the b16. I blew up the b16 and bought a d16z6 swap but didn't come with the wiring harness. The question is what harness can I use for this swap?? And I already have a wire coming out the firewall for vtec..... A lil help please

d16z6 with a p28 harness?, idk how thing match up but i wouldnt risk it and just get everything it's suppose to come with

first thing is you need to do some reading and research, with that said theres no reason it shouldn't work with the harness that was on the b16. I suggest if you're a noob go and get some number tags(they sell them at home depot in the electric section or definately at any electrical supply house) As you take the existing harness off the b16 put a number tag on the plug you take off and another tag of the same number on the corrosponding sensor. This will make your job much less confusing as you can easily go back and compare when fitting the harness to the new engine.Change the ecu to the appropriate obd1 p28 ecu.


This will work fine as long as whoever did the first swap didn't mickey mouse some crazy **** together which isn't out of the question either.

 

hell yeah!! thanxs for a quick response. The ecu i have in the car is a p28 with neptune rtp. If i read the response correct you said the b16 harness will fit the d16z6 motor?? correct?? And what axles would i use?? the chassis is a 95dx coupe

which is 92-95 civic ex??, Also would a non vtec distributor fit on the z6

 

its the same harness. it will fit fine. You need some EG D series axles.

@Linked P28 Harness with D16Z6? Omg not the SAME HARNESS that came with the motor?
