Default Re: rywire dpfi to mpfi question...

the DPFI ECU has the Crank Sensor wires located at ECU pins C1 orange and C2 white - the DPFI does not have a Cylinder Sensor

the MPFI ECU has the Crank Sensor wires located at ECU pins B10 orange and B12 white - it has the Cylinder Sensor wires located at ECU pins C1 blue/green and C2 blue/yellow

typical DPFI to MPFI instructions will have you move the Crank Sensor wires from C1 and C2 to B10 and B12 and add the 2 Cylinder Sensor wires from C1 and C2 to the distributor

looks to me like what Rywire is doing is just using the DPFI Crank Sensor wires (since they are already at C1 and C2) for the Cylinder Sensor and relocating them to the proper location for the Cylinder Sensor in the distributor connector - they then are adding 2 new wires from B10 and B12 for the Crank Sensor and locating them in the proper location in the distributor connector - it does save you from de-pinning and re-pinning the Crank Sensor wires at the ECU, but causes you to have to re-pin the distributor
