car starts then dies randomly

car starts then dies randomly
ok, i did search for a while but im still not sure what is going on.
i drive a 93 ex with 50,000 on a rebuilt motor.
heres whats going on: in the morning i start my car and it starts great, i head to I-5 and after about 5-10 mins my CEL comes on and i have NO POWER, even when i downshift i cannot accelerate. my car continues to slow down until i pull over and then it dies. i cannot restart the car unless i turn the key all the way back to off and then try to start it again. when i do this it starts right up and i have NO CEL and the car drives normal. this is a random problem that i cant seem to figure out. any help would be great.

ok i took the car out for a drive and waited for it to die. i checked the CEL like u suggested and the code was: 15 Ignition output signal
i went to autozone and bought a new distributor and that solved the problem. turns out my ignition switch thingy in the distributor was bad, but the cost difference was so small that i just bought a brand new distributor. thank you very much for you help! it is much appreciated!
