Coilovers? What brand should i go with?
just wanting to know any input on what coilovers i should rock on my somewhat of a weekend and nice day car. thinkin about some either pro c 10k/12k springs or some Function Form type 2s same spring rate. but have also heard some thing about PICs should i spend a lil more to get PICs? dont really wanna spend more then 1200 on suspension. or what about a strut spring combo?? any and all help will be appreciated thanks
would not go over 10k on any street driven car. which way you stack rates also depends on the sway bars you use. even with 10k rates you better be on a good street tire that's a 240 compound or under if you want any feel. all season tires and stiff rates create a car that's hard to feel at the limit.

what tires? cuz I ran the same things on my Integra and have no complaints. I was on 195/50/15 kumho AST's
the other thing, while i would rather have the pro c over the SS myself, rates are actually stiffer on the pro c. i'm not sure how that becomes smoother. total mismatch with all season tires too
Im not sure what the springs rates are on my SS's, I got em used basically for the name and grew to love them.
I see where you're coming from though.

The Pro C's appear to have better valving. I like that I can run up to an 18k spring with the Pro C's without having to get them re-valved, Tein requires the coilovers be re-valved for any other rates than that of which come with the coilovers.
oh the pro c's are a track worthy setup, i agree. it's just with springs that stiff your car will feel numb unless you have the tires to go with it. 18k is right about 1000lb/in which is a rate you might run on a 2500lb car with full blown slicks. if you were to run rates like that on some joe blow street tire, or even run those rates on the street at all, personally, my guess is the car would be slower than on a setup half that weight {like 9k-8k} your biggest problem is the tire loosing touch with the road. on the track, with the right tires i can see how you could make the car faster with that much roll resistance. on the street, no way.
