Default jdm d15 intake manifold on d16y7 motor?

hi,

I have a 97 ek hatch with a d16y7 that has the intake manifold with the vertical throttle body and three wire IACV, so I am turbocharging the car and need to swap the manifold in order to get it chip tuned to OBD1 with the two wire IACV.

I have been offered a jdm d15 intake manifold,.... Im wondering if it will bolt up perfectly or will be a hassle to install on my d16y7. the y7 is non-vtec and the jdm d15 is vtec I believe... will this cause problems?
also what injectors does a jdm d15 have?

Thanks any help will be appreciated!

not sure about that one but a d16y8 manifold would work good

I was just offered a 2000 civic si (Canada) intake manifold which is a d16y8... does this intake manifold have the 2 wire IACV or the three wire IACV... and is it obd2??? Thanks

you realize that you dont need to do that. You can use the 3Wire IACV. Then you can simply convert it by changing the wiring around at the ECU. Search 3 Wire IACV Fix.

I don't know where you got that idea. You have to preform the IACV fix in addition to swapping to a 2 wire IACV.

To the OP, yes you can use the JDM D15B Vtec intake manifold, or one from a 5 speed D16Y8, or a D16Z6.

actually no you dont. The IACV Fix works with a 3 wire IACV. I did the fix it ran fine. When you get the car tuned some tuning programs can bypass the IACV just as I ended up doing since the tuner said that its easier to bypass it so then it cant give you trouble in the future.

wow, I just bought a 2000 si 5spd y8 intake manifold... and am in the process of swapping it in... if it is possible to use the y7 intake mani in obd1 and delete one wire like 'jimster480' says... somebody is gonna get cut

its very possible lol. But if you have a Y8 Mani put it on there since the Y8 Mani flows better and makes better power. And there are more bolt on options for it. The Y7 Mani flows like ****. But ya im telling you its very possible By doing the fix I sent to you in PM the ECU will drive it fine. This is what I did with my OBD1 ECU with Conversion harness for like 2 weeks until I got it tuned. If you dont do the fix the car wont even run. To all of you who say no, dont speak until youve done it. Because I did it, it works fine and doesnt throw a CEL.
