recommended 4 channel amp?

Hey guys,
I'm looking for a 4 channel amplifier to power my 4 speakers, what i'm looking for is "best bang for the buck" I did look at the alpine PDX series, but i wanted to know what other amps out there that can perform better or as good as the PDX series for lower than the PDX series price. I was thinking of getting an Alpine PDX 4.150
specs of the PDX 4.150:
# RMS Power Rating @ 4 ohms: 150 watts x 4 chan.
# RMS Power Rating @ 2 ohms: 150 watts x 4 chan.
# RMS Power Rating @ 4 ohms bridged: 300 watts x 2 chan.
but im not too sure if that amp is enough or too much power for the speakers. thanks in advance.

JL Audio also makes some pretty good amps, the PDX 4.150 would be a good amp to go with, it is not too much power for the speakers, [it is better to be over-powered the underpowered.
MTX also makes a good amp, not as pricey as Alpine or JL Audio. 94

Are you getting the 4 or 8 ohm speaker? I assume the 4 ohm. Since that each channel will give you 150 watts but i don't know if that amp's truly underrated. What's the R.m.s of that amp, 300?
Alpine PDX amps have a regulated power supply, output wattage is the same into 2-4 ohms, rated power on the 4.150 is 4x150W RMS into 2-4 ohms @14.4V.
Alpine Type R speakers, [SPR-17S and SPR-69C] are all 4ohm systems. 94

dude are you retarded? his speakers are about 100w rms each, he is gonna have up to 150w rms per speaker.. thats 50% more than recommended.. i agree with fcm and your choice on the alpine amp, plus alpine has a classy looking amp, its clean and simple. also i used to have an eclipse 4ch amp, it was sweet, but the heat sink was like a 3 on a scale of 1-10, so it ran rather hot, even for a class a/b.

I'm going to the pawn shop now.
Come on guys, lets get it right, and not confuse the OP.
The speakers the OP has are the Alpine Type R SPR-17S an "over-sized" 6.5" 2way component set, continuous power handling, [RMS] is 110W, peak is 330W, his rear speakers are the Alpine Type R SPR-69C a standard 6x9 inch 2way coax speaker, continuous power handling, [RMS] is 100W, peak is 300W.
The Alpine PDX-4.150 he is looking at is the perfect amp for the speakers, the amp is 4x150W RMS into 2 - 4 ohms, [speakers are 4 ohm].
Although the PDX-4.100 would probably work, it is underpowered by 10W a channel for the front speakers and it is better to be overpowered then it is to be underpowered.
As mentioned there are lots of good amps that will do the job, I would not use anything under 2x125W RMS for the fronts and no less the 2x100W RMS for the rears, a 4x125W RMS is the smallest 4ch amp I would recommend, don't forget on an overpowered amp the gain on the amp can always be turned down, if your underpowered all you can do is keep the HU volume down so as not to drive the underpowered amp into constant clipping, which will eventually damage the speakers. 94

I agree with FCM it is always better to have more power then not enough. But for what it is worth my shop has had 0% luck with the PDX line. Every single one has had some sort of problem. I would personally prefer an Alpine f-600. but thats just one installers opinion
If you connecting both 2 channel. It will not be under power, but if he going to be using 4 speaker then it will be under power. Each speaker can handle up to 100 R.m.s and that amp isn't going to power 4 enough. You can either get another 2 channel and power the rear.
Jeezzzz, what part of 4 channel amp do you not understand, the Alpine PDX-4.150 is a 4 channel amp, 4 channels at 150W RMS per channel, more then enough to drive the 4 speakers the OP has. 94
Fail....
hey guys thanks for the opinions. I think i'll get the pdx 4.150 as i trust FCM's suggestions. Obviously i'm not very knowledgeable about car audios, but i like to save money and do DIYs. So to install this amp, considering i'm a beginner, should i just buy an installation kit, or should i just buy stuff individually?
If you buy an "amp kit" get one without the RCAs and with an ANL type fuse, then just buy the proper length RCA, the RCAs that come in the kits are too long, 18 - 21 feet. 94
