Anyone have any luck finding an internal distributor seal
try carquest or napa. Carquest had them in stock near me in Raleigh. You are talking about the one the size of a quarter that fits inside the motor area correct?
Yeah that is the one but I can't find one for an EX they only offer them for the non-vtec engines. same with the Napa here in Dallas.
Have you tried Ebay Or summit racing or even a honda dealer ship? Also would it be listed as anything else? When I was getting tranny parts for my 5speed some parts were named diffrent.

I am having a similar issue with a leaking distributor but I cant find one to fit my tec distibutor...
I was wondering if this seal was standard for all model accords or is it based on your engine (vtec or non vtec) or is it based on dist. brand (hitachi or tec)

If you are still out there, did you ever find the seal? I have a v6 with a similar problem and i'm curious if you were able to find the part.
thanks.
thanks.
If you are looking for the O-Ring that is located on the outside of the distributor shaft that seats inside the motor. The 98+ V6 part number is 30110-PC6-005, $2 at any Honda dealership.
Hitachi
90-93 - 30110-PA1-732
94-02 - 30110-PC6-005
TEC
90-02 - 30110-PA1-732
If your looking for the oil seal (inside the distributor) that is a little harder to come by. It can be found on ebay from time to time.

One of the suggestion on another forum was to disassemble the distributor, find the seal, measure ID, OD, and thickness and order a replacement. The mod on that forum found the seal at rocket seals online catalog for an Acura 2.5 TL that way.
Thanks to all for the info thus far. Especially Redbull who mentioned the V6 specificity. We (rather, my mechanic) removed the distributor seal today and the measurements are slightly off of what is listed above: OD =22mm; ID=12.43mm; thk=6.42mm. I found the part on partstrain (thanks homesnmanny), ebay, and a couple of other sites. As Redbull stated, the engines listed are all but the V6 and i'm thinking that that to swage a 22.5mm part into a 22mm "hole" would be be pretty tough. Just thought I'd give this update in case it helps someone else or in case anyone has any other suggestions:]
One last post (for me) on this topic: rocket seals rocks! We called them and gave them the measurements we'd taken. We were really lucky they had something in stock we could use. It wasn't exact, but we decided it would work. And so far, things are working well. A point to note as well, is that the o-ring and distributor cap seal for the v6 seem to be not available except at the dealer and for what they are, they are relatively pricey. So if you are going to go through the trouble of replacing the inner seal, replace the other 2 seals as well. The expensive price at the dealer is not nearly as annoying after the effort to find the inner seal.

Are you an HT sponsor or are you spamming? You may want to look into becoming a site sponsor if you want to pimp your wares here!
Ebay is still cheaper! They ship the inner and outer seal for less than you are offering the one seal shipped.

The reason why I made the post was because someone who found me told me that the seal was really hard to come by. And after reading this discussion, I just wanted to help.
Here's the link to ebay for the BH3888 seal (which i do not participate):
http://shop.ebay.com/i.html?_nkw=BH3....c0.m270.l1313
They only offer the OE version which is made of regular Nitrile / NBR (black).
I offer both the regular version and the high performance version made of Viton / FKM (brown).

It's nice to know that there is another place to buy these seals. Most local machine shops will sell them as well. However, You are still advertising your parts without being an H-T sponsor. Which is against forum policy.
On another note, this high performance O-ring, what is high performance about it? Only differences that I see between the two are Viton has a higher temp rating (203°C vs 135°C) and a higher price. The higher temperature rating is not a bonus in this specific application. If your distributor gets up to 275°C I think you will have bigger problems.
I also noticed on that link you provided, with the parts list, that you use the same ref# for both the OEM and high temp part. Why is that?

I am assuming you're the individual I e-mailed because of my uncertainty of the item?. I also want to add his response was prompt to my emails because I was skeptical the part was the correct one.
I hope all goes well when the seal arrives because so far you have been informative and helpful, wouldn't want to ruin your Rep.

Regarding the VITON version and using the same OEM#: From my understanding, since the OE only makes the NBR version, I thought I would provide an alternative for those seeking the high temp version. Just to avoid any confusion, the part in question is the Oil Seal inside the distributor - not the O-Ring.

Although It is my fault I don't recall giving you my engine code, nevertheless thanks for the service.
What size is the F22B1 oil seal?
The NOK BH3888(E) is listed to fit pretty much all of the Honda distributors, with the exception of the V6's. Are you sure that you removed the old oil seal completely??????

Yes, I removed it using a screwdriver and rubber mallet.
To measure it properly wouldn't I need a vernier caliper?
Here's another thing I had an old distributor laying around, so I figured I might have some luck, turns out it's the exact seal I ordered, btw the old dizzy was from f22b2 engine.

I also bought from "bestpartsonline," and I'll see how it goes. I made sure I selected the "f22b1 and f23a1" application.
