Default Auto p30 to manual help?

Does anyone know what do I need to change out of the ecu of a p30 to manual? Because a check engine light is on but if I put any other honda manual ecu no check engine light. I heard to get a 1.4ohm resistor? Summit racing has a 1.4 ohm ballast resistor, I don't its right. If anyone knows please tell..

JDM P30 - change RP18 from the existing 2.4k Ohm to a 1.4k Ohm (1kohm works also) radio shack parts work great all though larger than they need to be.

USDM P30 - remove RP17 and RP18, then place a jumper across RP18
